my 91 M3 (e30) with 42k miles, all original, perfect, and with all of the correct BMW evo mods. Car was perfect, but I was going racing big time, and needed the cash. Ive had at least 75 cars, and thats the only one I regret selling. Not so much because the value has doubled or more, but because the kid that bought it literally ripped it in half less than a year after he bought it from me. Saddens me that such a perfectly done car was completely gone so soon.

Cars that id buy again:

91 NSX
E30 M3
E46 M3

My 95 993 C2:

Picked it up in Stuttgart and drove it with few flaws for 18 years. Traded it for the 2013 991 base C2. The salesman bought it from the dealership with the original clutch and rear brakes at 98K miles. I see it every time I take my present GTS for an oil change. My heart sinks. I tried to buy it back but he will not sell it to me.

Good thread.

I have started to just add, and not sell from a while ago. Yes, garage spaces always a problem.

Did not miss the ones that I sold too much, but I regret not buying certain cars at certain times - 993TT, 4.0RS, Ferrari 308, 328, NSX...

This is a great thread, thanks for starting it STG. To answer your question - YES. I was deeply in love with my 997.1 C2S. What a great car. It had such grunt, personality and a fantastic 6 speed. Total **** technology but the car drove amazingly. Especially coming from a base Boxster (which I also really miss).

But, like many of you before and I suspect many of you moving forward (wrt to the 991.2), I was lured by the enhanced technology and PDK of the 997.2. I traded for a base (mistake #1) 911 PDK and within a few months quickly realized how amazing the PDK is but that it ultimately wasn't for me.

I've managed to track down my old 997.1 and it appears to now be in Houston, Texas.

If anyone sees it, tell it I miss you!

My 2006 Honda S2000. Should have never let her go, it was love at first sight.

Default Still miss it!

My first Porsche 2006 Cab 4S with X51 power pack. Yes, the nose bobbed at high speed. Yes, the steering wheel twitched in your hands. It was not as comfortable as the newer 911's, but it was the closest thing to riding a motorcycle. Loved it and had no plans to trade it in, until I was prompted to get a GTS, as the last NA engine.

A lot more comfortable. The PDK works great, but most of the time the emotion is gone. I had a smile on my face driving it at 40 miles an hour...that's what I miss.

when I was 19 I sold a '71 Firebird Formula 400 3 speed for $300, it needed a clutch. That was a big mistake when I look back.

Sure do regret selling the following:

1976 930 Turbo White

1978 930 Turbo paint to sample graphite with bright red interior - truly spectacular combination!!!

1974 2002tii Inka Orange

1993 RS America Red with no sunroof

1995 M-3 Avus Blue with Dinan goodies

1978 BMW 540 6 Speed - custom order Estoril Blue / Grey

2002 BMW M-5 Le Mans Blue/Black

2008 Boxster RS 60 Spyder GT Silver / Red (with all available leather options - stunning interior!)

2007 GT3 Cobalt Blue

2012.5 991 S Cab - Carrera White / Red

Of course all of these cars have led up to my owning an Aqua Blue 2010 GT3RS and a 991 PCA Club Coupe! I can honestly say I would not trade either of these two cars for any off my list above!!!

I wanted to get one of those when they launched, but the dealer was charging a whopping 15k over sticker!

Instead, I upgraded my 98 Boxster to a 2000 Boxster.

Loved the gear box in that car; didn't care for the fact that you had to hit 6K+ RPM for the car to be responsive. All in all a great car for the price.

I should never have sold my '89 Carrera. After spending too much money making it into my idea of hotrod, it looked great and handled even better. Should have kept it.

Miss my first car...1971 Pontiac Grand Prix. Yes, that was years ago. Dad sold it unbeknownst to me until after work one day. Got sick of my neutral slams.

By the way. If you by chance have my car, look under the back seat cushion. That's where I stored my liquor back in high school! Many, many years ago.
