Default 991 key fob shell replacement

Does anyone know how to replace the shell of a 991 Entry and Drive key fob or know of a link or where I could find directions? Thanks.

I guess I need to know how remove the original casing (shell, housing) off so I can replace the newly bought white casing (shell or housing).

My dealer's service department does these changes at no charge if I buy the parts from them. Never learned how to do it myself. By the way, I'm told for each set of "sides" you can only change them once but I'm on 3rd change on one key.

Obviously this is a part that's very easy to replicate, but pricing is essentially $135 OEM or $12 on EBay or Amazon. Does anyone know if the cheaper ones are Porsche shells that are just painted by sellers?

I just don't want the casings popping off inadvertently.

yes they are just painted shells, which don't match the metallic colors all that well imo, but they are secure and stay on.

see how the platinum metallic knock off version has a darker shade of brown? might bug some people but still looks better than that cheap black key blade that it came with:

Yea , u can buy ten sets. My dealer told me the OEM ones chip, not worth it. I will probably do the knock off case and not match it to exterior paint since it won't be a good match.

The chrome one is appealing, as is gloss black.

For $12 it's worth a shot.
