Public Service Warning From LexVan
Hey Guys/Gals and Chuck, check those tire pressures. Temps are starting to drop with the changing of the seasons, and you'll see this in your cold tire pressures.
And get ready for The Acorn Effect. I know exactly what this is, and it still freaks the hell out of me when the car is parked and cools way down. I thought a wheel fell of the other day.
Be safe.

Three Wheelin'
Yup - right on schedule. My TPM light went on yesterday after my car sat for five days while I was traveling. All my tires had lost about 4 psi. I drove over to my dealer and the service manager told me I was the fourth person to stop by to bring the tires up to pressure.

It's supposed to get to 93F today. Not worried yet.

I got my GTS last November, and the acorn-ing freaked me out. I took it to the dealer and he let me drive another 911 and a Cayman to prove this was "normal"....ahhhhhh the mysteries of Porsche......

Two of my Audi's do it too especially my R8 backing up and turning then forward...glad I knew what it was but it is disturbing the popping it can make. Learned same way when temps in my Chicago parking garage were low.

Yup, I get it on all three of my cars when I turn sharply backing out of the driveway. Sometimes it's quite loud and startling, but usually it's nothing much.
Regarding pressures, I check my pressures constantly anyway, so I never get caught out when the temps change. Got in the habit of checking them before every ride on my motos that now I probably check them too much on my cars.
