The plastic cap is tethered to the plastic **** that is circled. The tether is looped onto the ****. To remove the tether, you need a hooked pick to grab the loop and pull over the ****. Not much space there, but with some patience it can be done. Good luck. BTW - mine looks great and filling up is now kinda fun
Got mine last week haven't figured out how to put it on. Searched everywhere couldn't find an answer. Thank you. I did try stretching the loop to pull it over the **** but it doesn't seem to stretch very much at all.....Gonna give it a try again later...
My gas cap install was successful! Ok, so not the 'manliest' mod one can make on their cars but one I am certainly proud of (I also did the LED clear side marker install as well this weekend).
To reiterate, if you want to do this yourself, you need a set of needle nose pliers (picured below). Essentially, you have to pry the loop over the rivet/nail. I actually cut the cord to make it easier to grasp as seen below, then pulled it off. It does take a bit of force and fidgeting. Took me about 15 minutes to get it off but I am extra careful, so might take others less time. The finished result is pictured. Love it!
In the end though, I actually don't think this is necessarily the 'correct' way of doing it. I think the dealers must have a rivet removal tool to remove the rivet, and then the new loop is put in with the new tether. Anyways, for what it's worth, that was my experience.
You're my man, Brad! Luv it. Yes it can, sir. And a proper closure.

so do you guys pop open the gas door , in addition to raising the rear wing manually when parked at Cars and Coffee , to " show off " to casual bystanders ?
have always though it to be a straaange option on a car not called TT or Viper

I dont know if any of you watch (or care about) "Million $ Listing: Los Angeles" on Bravo. (my wife is addicted)
The biggest dick on there, Josh Altman, sadly owns a 991 Targa (black/silver) and I have noticed that he pretty much *always* drives around with his
spoiler up, and even parks it like that!
nuff said I think... wanna announce yourself as an assh*le, deploy your spoiler!
Did you install the pedals yourself? If so, how difficult was it? Any strange hurdles to overcome?
Not hard at all. I did it myself in about an hour. Really, the hardest part was figuring out how to pull the throttle wire connectors apart. The retention clip is not very intuitive. And my back hurt from the strange positions I assumed working on the pedals.
If you do it, there is a thread where I posted pics of how the throttle connector retention clip is released. PM me if you do it and I'll dig the thread out or give you the pics from my photo bucket.
The pedals are not inexpensive, but it is one of those mods I am glad I did and have zero regrets about.

(does not apply to GT3's with fixed wings!)
Are you sure he doesn't have a fixed aftermarket spoiler on his, I tried to pause it during the show and thought it was.
