Contacted them and they said they hope to have a new one for the 991 out in a month or so. Currently are working on it. Fingers are crossed.

So this is a $160 optional up-charge for a shiny plastic cap instead of a black plastic cap! I can only imagine if the standard cap was shiny plastic, how much extra you guys would pay for a Bad A$$ black cap. Men are not the sensible shopping gender they like to portray.

I wouldn't buy it . It says petroleum instead of porsche on the handle.. Too generic. For twenty bucks more you can get the original like the one on my car.

And when some Yahoo then adds oil to their gas tank, you can bet they'll blame the cap's manufacturer. Until that cap is provided with a proper OEM-style tether, I'd prefer the Porsche cap. The proffered tether solutions look worse than the stock black cap. JMO...

More expensive than silver per ounce. Makes sense.

Remember, Porsche put the ignition key to the left of the steering wheel to make it possible to get away from the Le Mans start faster. What I cannot figure out is how the Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, Japanese, et al convinced the Germans to put the gas filler flap/cap/pipe on their damn side of the car. That alone must save more time than the light and bright aluminum look gas cap. I think it is only fair to require all right-hand drive cars to have an additional combination lock in the cap itself. That'll fix em.
FYI, the RHD cars have the ignition key to the right side of the steering wheel also.

To clarify, you guys aren't actually removing the filler door correct? Just spending hundreds of monies to replace a part that's entirely hidden from view with a shiny version?

Right, but I know it's there; just like I know when my wife is wearing her best French lingerie - works for me

I plan on doing a filler door delete so the cap is visible at all times
