I think you’ve done a great job. It’s a very clever solution that I’d be interested in. However, I absolutely would not buy it because of the logo and Monaco graphics. By putting them on there, you’ve made just ‘un-minimalisted’ it. The graphics reduce your potential customer base significantly - Meant as constructive criticism.

“LOL” ?
I think you may have missed the point (again) Gary. It was constructive criticism. He’s an adult and he’s got a great idea. Which he then designed and implemented. He then stuck some very specific logos and icons on his idea. In my opinion, that’s going to seriously reduce the number of people that would buy his product. I think a blank piece of black metal would be perfect. Unobtrusive and tasteful.
What would a man who bought a bright red Porsche convertible do ? Cover the charging plate with tasteful nudes of Richard Nixon and Joe McCarthy ?

I bought a belkin vent mount to hold my iPhone. It sits pretty securely, even during aggressive driving. I have to plug the phone in for CarPlay so I was not interested in a wireless charger. Bonus points, the cup holder still works.
