In the absence of any MPSS supply what are people using?

Except both of the Bridgestone tires shown above aren't rated high enough to match the Porsche specs of 102Y. For daily street driving you may never see any difference, but if you track the car or potentially have to do some serious crash avoidance at elevated highway speeds, those tires could fail with catastrophic results. To the best of my knowledge ONLY the Pzeros currently meet the 102Y rating.
Those tires are used on the GTR, which is 800lb heavier and faster than a 991.
I never heard of tire problems on the GTR.
Honestly, I dont think you understand what those specifications even mean.
You just think going below a certian # means imminent doom.
These tires are loud though and not the best in standing water, so for those reasons, they may not be the ideal choice for street driving.
Plus, you need at least a 9" front wheel to fit the 265-35-20.
They are a semi-track tire, so track saftey is an area where they should do better than PZero or PSS.

Just as smooth and quiet as PSS.
I have been debating dropping to 19" wheels to run those.
The reat tire size offerings were not ideal though.

Notice the rating involves increasing speed in 6.2 mph (10 kph) increments every 10 minutes to max speed. So to reach say 180 mph the car will have been doing over 150 mph for 50 minutes. Fifty minutes at over 150! (Not to mention an hour and 40 minutes over 120, etc., pick your starting point… try and find the road you can do that on!) Yet somehow if it doesn't have that rating it is prone to explode if you swerve on the freeway.
Right.

I'm going to wait for the MPSS and MPSC2 supplies to become available again...
the GT3 needs some new shoes (Corsa's are due for replacement) so it will get the MPSC2 and the GTS can get some MPSS to replace the PZeros...

My good man, you know nothing about load ratings or tires. What they put on a GTR means nothing, and while weight factors into the rating so does the ultimate handling capability. Porsche specs a 102 tire for a reason, a performance reason. If you want to go below that rating that's your choice. But do a little research before you put your foot in your mouth again. I never said using a lower rated tire would result in eminent doom

I thought a Tire Test was the only way to evaluate Ultimate Handling on a given car.
I'm suprised race teams and auto crossers spend huge money testing tires when they could have just gone by the load rating.

Just to add to the tire discussion and this might be old news but I stopped by the dealer yesterday and they said they will now be able to install the MPSS because it is now a Porsche approved tire.
Wonder if the supply is going directly to the factory to be installed on new cars. hummmmmm.
