For those with black or brown cars or for any obsessive detailers out there, when you get out of your car after its nice and shiny and polished, where do you put your hand to close the door without getting fingerprints all over it?

I know it sounds silly, but I usually put my hand on the door handle, but it's a little farther to reach and you have to step completely out of the car and around the door so it feels more prosaic of a movement than normally necessary.

 

Never seen a post about closing a door before, but I understand what you are saying. I usually press my fingers on the door edge opposite the hinge side and close the door that way.

But that is only if the car is freshly detailed. Give it a couple days, and I don't care.

 

Always by the handle. Don't like touching the paint

I guess that's why Dr Porsche put a door handle on it. That's what I use. I'll bitch slap or pimp slap someone if they use the glass edge.

That's what I use to push door or frunk closed. If it's boogered up, then I have three or four clean microfiber towels in the car at all times, for fingerprint "emergencies"...T

Actually, think I more catch it by the glass and push it almost closed when drying after washing.

Fingerprints on door near handle or frunk hood near Porsche emblem bug the heck out of me. Not sure why; rest of exterior can be filthy. Only thing worse, like Lex said, is if anyone closes the door by holding onto the window; they're immediately banned until apologies are made & reeducation is completed.
