I had my doors removed. Didn't want to worry about fingerprints or smudging them up. Now I don't have to worry about opening them either. Life is good.

 

I just use my foot right in the middle of the door to nudge it close. So it wouldn't get marked/scratched I installed Pep Boys chrome molding right across the door to push against.

 

 

Thank you for discovering this old thread. I hadn't joined Rennlist when this was first posted. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The RL subscribers are the best.

 

I've been using the same method to close the car door for over a decade. It leaves no fingerprints. However; during a regular (30 hour) inspection using a mass spectrometer, I discovered a disturbing side affect of 'The Method' - a mushroom shaped dent on the doors edge.

It's only four microns deep. My team informs me that it will continue to worsen if I continue. There are other issues associated with the method, however I don't want to get into that here.

 

Ahh, nothing beats the sound of a fine quality plastic door being closed.
