Anyone else disgusted by Porsche?

Are you dealing with just one salesperson? I changed to a different salesperson in my dealership because of non-responsiveness on the part of the guy I first dealt with. I had asked him to let me know when the Targa 4s became available, and he didn't. I found out when I drove by the dealership and saw one in the showroom. I then approached another salesman who arranged an allocation swap with another dealership for my special order.

For clarity, neither Porsche Cars North America nor the dealer can give me info at this point. The dealer relies on PCNA for info. Is this a reflection of a crummy dealer as your posts imply? I contacted PCNA directly, and they confirmed everything that the dealer told me, which is "we have no information and don't know why the order was not picked up by the factory". Is this Rector's fault if they aren't getting an allocation? If they're not, no problem, I can scour the country like an idiot to try and buy a car for 150K, just friggen tell me "yes you can buy a car, or no, you can't buy a car".
And yes, I've talked to Brett at Sonnen. Very nice guy, but his price was nowhere near as attractive as Rector. Perhaps I'll call him again and see if anything has changed. However I don't see what good this will do if the factory or PCNA is not communicating allocations to dealers.

Can I just say... I feel better seeing this. Misery loves company I guess. I mean if someone posted a thread about how much they love how communicative their dealer is, and that ordering a GTS was as easy as a BMW or Benz--and then a bunch of "+1" posts showed up... Argh!
But looks like folks are having a similar experience everywhere. Makes me trust my dealer more. I've heard the Ferrari waiting list can occasionally be years long (?).
Yay for manipulating supply & demand. European conglomerate bastards.

Call around and find another dealer. You might have to pay more, but you'll get a car.
Allocations are "allocated" in different numbers to the various dealers.
Plus, look on cars.com
There are new GTS's sitting on dealer lots ready to drive home today.

I would be extremely frustrated if I were you. I put down my deposit on June 3rd and it took almost a month to get an allocation. It came through last week but the downside is that it won't get delivered until early December. Six months from order to delivery. Like others have suggested I would check out other dealers and see if they can get something. That being said, I thought mine had an allocation when I ordered but I did not find until later that they had to do some allocation trades with other dealers to get mine. Good luck with getting it sorted out.

1) the Zuffenhausen production line (hand assembly) only has (global)
capacity for ~200 cars/day, this includes *all* 911 variants and Boxsters
too, i.e they are *not* a volume production like BMW, MB, Audi etc.
2) Porsche branding is such that they have maintained some degree of
exclusivity (vs pure profit, c.f the Cayman GT4 demand and supply).
Try getting a Ferrari and see how "disgusted" you are then

The reality of the situation. I hope they don't become Benz or the other guys.
Ferrari won't take your 200 or 300K either.
