Default Mahogany Targa GTS delivered!

My Targa GTS arrived on Friday. Thanks to everyone who gave me ordering suggestions; there's definitely a few options I would not have thought to get and I'm glad I did.

My build was:

Mahogany Metallic
Natural Leather Interior in Espresso/Cognac
BOSE Audio Package
LED Headlights incl. Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus
Side Skirts Painted
ParkAssist (Front and Rear)
Seat Heating
Sport Seats Plus (4-way)
Seat Ventilation
Rear Center Tunnel in Leather with Decorative Stitching
SportDesign Steering Wheel
Dashboard Trim in Leather
Steering Column Casing in Leather
Sport Seats Plus Backrest Shells in Leather
Brushed Aluminum Interior Package i.c.w. Leather Interior
Center Console Trim in Brushed Aluminum

Ordered on March 8th; arrived on May 22nd; not too bad.

I wasn't able to find any mahogany Targa photos on the Internet (other than the 4S that Sonnen was selling around Christmas time), so I was a little worried how the car was going to turn out. Fortunately, I think the car looks great and I'm really happy with it. Of course, it's incredibly fun to drive. The main differences I notice from my 991 C2 (other than the roof!) are the great sound when in Sports Plus mode and the better manual gearbox. I was surprised how much difference there is between the two gearboxes.

Well done! that is a beautiful looking targa. The color is certainly not one you see all the time. Enjoy and drive it in good health!

Congrats!! Targa GTS, nice combo. Definitely not a car you'd see as a dealer lot order. Very nice! Enjoy.

I was looking at your Sport steering wheel and wondering where the paddle shifters are! Ha ha.

Thanks! Weird coincidence: I was just reading your blog! I guess it must have been linked from a post of yours here. You've ordered a Targa GTS too, right? I hope it arrives in time for that oh-so-short ( but oh-so-perfect) Seattle summer. I lived in Seattle for eight years and still summers there. I was up there two weeks ago and summer was definitely nowhere in sight.

I like the look of the build with one exception (and of course its personal taste), and that is the black wheels in that color scheme just are not workin' with the Mahogany. If you like 'em, that's cool - but perhaps see if Wheel Enhancement or HRE can run up some Photoshops for you in alternates. Myself, I'd like to match the color of the Targa bar to the wheel color. Great ride, though.

I learned my lesson with that blog never to name a site after one car specifically, especially knowing my bad habit of going through cars When I bought my Turbo Look Cab I really enjoyed researching the rare option and since I thought I would have the car forever I created the site. But as fun as the Cab is I just couldn't get this new Targa out of my head. I wish I had room for both of them because unlike the Targa my old Cab will continue to go up in value. Live and learn.

My car arrives in late August so I'll miss most of the summer her but September and October can be awesome driving weather too. And we have our boat to keep us entertained in the summer anyway.

The next time you are going to be up in Seattle feel free to ping me and after I have my car we can compare the builds in person. You went for classy, classic and timeless. I went a different direction with lots of red

Cheers,
Jeff

Obviously he must like them. He just ordered them on a 130-140K or around there car.

I've learned to appreciate other people's choices even though they are not what I would personally order.
