Default Hood/Bonnet Jedi Trick Discovered!

So, yesterday, I was talking to a detailer about installing a new type of clear bra on my car. As I was motioning my and over the front bumper area of the car, the bonnet just magically popped open! I was a little bit shocked, but since i was squatting with my key in my pocket i just figured i must have pinched the button release with my thigh...

Detailer laughed a little and showed me that its a feature of the car. If the key is in proximity to the hood, you hold your hand over the Porsche badge and it opens!

Who knew?!?! LOL.

Leads me to believe that there are other features on my car I don't know about. I could just read my manual, but as a self-repecting, red blooded American, I refure to emasculate myself and read any car manual!

I might not read maps or ask for directions but I devour my Pcar owner's manual! Important stuff in there! Try it!

Patience, you must have. You must unlearn what you have learned. When you look at the manual careful you must be, for the manual looks back. Offended you are? Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. Always pass on what you have learned.

Reliably it works, when washing you are.

Agreed! Especially when you're holding the hose!

Thats no lie, the ONLY time it does work is washing the car spraying the hose. Now any time I want to open the frunk I just click the button on the remote. Saves one from standing there waving at the crest looking like a total moron!

This.

Why? I gave up on it. I was under the impression that perhaps I changed a setting that turned it off.

Just keep the key away from the frunk, and no one gets hurt!

Away from the frunk the key stays, and hurt no one gets.

Works on the engine lid too, if you wave your foot under the driver's side muffler.

So right, this is honestly the only time I can ever get that damn frunk thing to work without physically pushing the button.
