The touchless release works every time for me. You aren't supposed to put your hand over the crest.

Put your hand over the front bumper immediately below the crest and it will pop right open!

Rarely works for me. I think I have too much wax on my car. Blocking the signal.

Try waving your hand a little left of center, on passenger side.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.

The sensor is located under the front bumper just below the crest. If you wave at the crest over and over, you will look like an idiot because nothing will happen. Try waving about 1/2 inch above the surface of the bumper just below the hood crest. One or two little waves and it will open every time!

To prevent accidental opening during car washing, just leave your key in the house.

The only way I have found to get it to open is to lightly touch the bumper below the crest. Works every time. I found this out when I was investigating what I suspected was a stone chip in the paint. It NEVER worked otherwise, no matter how much I waved, flapped, swiped, or flipped-the-bird to the crest.

Cheers

I place my palm flat on the part of the hood just under the crest, and it opens every time.
