Gentlemen,

You can flash. Or you can wave. Doing both though is trying too hard. Like throwing the Beauty Pageant wave. The proper Porsche wave is to briefly raise one hand from the wheel, just a little, in a sort of dignified half-salute type gesture.

Think John Kelly when asked about the impudent seal tatoo on his arm. "Oh, that? Its just something we all did."

As you were.

It just works different than it used to. I waved to a gorgeous lady in her top down Cab the other day. She waved her cell phone right back at me.

Back in the day when I owned a Triumph TR3 we would wave at all sports cars, even the occasional Porsche. Since joining the Porsche ranks, first with a Cayman and now with a 991.2, I've given up waving at any but the "sports car" models, (i.e. Boxster/Cayman and 911's) as you'll never get a return wave. I'll wave at 356, 944, 928, etc. models but I rarely see one on the road these days.

Years ago I was driving my 997 .... a gift from my crazy x wife. I ran across her while driving her new MB during a very hostile divorce and I gave her the "wave" with my middle finger.
She called the cops and she claimed I was stalking her.
Oh well, so much for reaching across the isle and trying to be inclusive of all brands of cars.

Korea is pretty conservative society, so no waving here. But I am a proud owner of a 911 and a Wrangler =D

Snob...we Panamera drivers are Porsche drivers too....lol. JK. I also have a BoxsterS so you can wave at that I guess.... But Panamera's are fantastic cars.

I flash the lights most of the time. Here in Palm Beach I rarely get a return hello.
