911s were completely off my radar, and then I found one just added to the locator. I took it for a test drive, and then put down a deposit! It is a single-owner '12 C2S for $56.9k with 41k miles, and was a $121k build. The high mileage isn't a huge issue because it will pretty much be a weekend car.

Any thoughts? We are going back tomorrow afternoon with my wife. I know yellow isn't for everyone, but I like the yellow/black combo and it seems like a great deal.

Edit to add: It is being CPO'd. The original owner must have added sport exhaust since it is not on the build sheet, but is installed.

Woah. That is with Westwood Porsche? I've been stalking them for a cab or boxster for some time. Nice find. Pretty loaded, up to the painted key and SPASM (not sure what's more important ).

Here's a link to the dealer site. Still no pics. I might stop by there tomorrow to look.

Yup! I live in Somerville and literally called to see if it was still available, jumped in my car and drove down this afternoon.

I learned to move quickly on hot deals

Make sure it has your name on it!!

Lowest priced 991.1S with that MSRP, mileage, and CPO I've ever seen. Over 50% off MSRP!

I put a deposit on it, so I hope that means it has my name on it haha!

One question: How much is the sport steering wheel swap? It has the standard wheel, so it would not be as complicated as swapping the multi-function wheel?

My S4 has the DSG/paddles and would prefer paddles vs shift buttons on the wheel.

Swap, budget like $1,500 installed. No big deal.

Depends if you need to install MF stalk on the column.

Thanks. I will drive the car for a while before deciding, but pretty sure I want paddles since I drive with them 99% of the time.

One still called me yesterday after 4 months of buying one to see if I was still in the market. Politely told them I had purchased and to take me off their list. I commend them for chasing the sale though.
Yup, I was at a local dealership (not where I purchased my current 911) to inquire about a 911 that they had for close to 5 months. .

I told salesman I'd consider trading in my current 911. He said it's in the backlot and he'll bring it out. Comes back in 10 minutes and says to me...it's in the other lot. It's not that far but DO I MIND IF I COME BACK? I was stunned.

Then he and I walked back in the building so he can give me his calling card then he walks away and proceeds to BS with another customer.

I said to myself...they haven't sold the car in 5 months and I was personally there to look at it and he had no issue to tell me to come back.

My experience with local Porsche dealerships has been a bit better. They didn't call me back, but I did get follow-up emails from all of them. When I wanted to see a car that was in the back lot (or warehouse, in one case), I had no issues with them bringing the car out.

The one thing is that when I asked to see a Panamera Turbo at Westwood Porsche - which I mention because of the yellow C2S, which would have interested me if it had been on the lot 5 months ago - they wouldn't bring that out. "Too expensive for test drives."

Whut? I'm going to buy a car with a sticker price north of $150k without knowing how it drives? In any case, Porsche of Burlington didn't balk when I asked to test drive a Panamera Turbo. Which was OK, but inferior in everything except cargo room to a C2S. Driving those back to back cemented the idea that I wanted a 911 after all.

In Westwood's defense, when I came back in a few days to test drive a 991.2, they gave me a broad range of cars to test. 991.1 GTS, 991.1 base, 991.2 4S that I recall. It may just have been the salesman - salesman #2 knew us from a couple of years ago when we bought a 981 S and Panamera S e Hybrid.

That was an odd reaction when asking for a test drive, but I know someone who had the same thing happen with a CPO (not even brand-new) RS7.

My salesperson was really nice (I will post his details after the deal is completed), especially considering I was looking at one of their least-expensive cars. I mentioned a 6-speed 996tt on the lot and he immediately asked if I wanted to take it for a test drive.
