Seinfeld auctioning off some hot cars. I have a feeling maybe the market has peaked for now? He'll probably be able to buy these back for a big discount on the next downturn.

[QUOTE=Kennethjk;13015955]As a CPA I am aware of the tax consequences of course assuming you are using the car for business purposes. Won't get into the buyout of the lease if you're doing it personally.

You're exactly on point there. "pre tax" dollars to pay for a sports car lease is a red flag when dealing with the tax guys. Unless you use that car for documented business mileage(and even then there are restriction$) they will throw that out in a hearbeat.

http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...0471/overview/
The VIN in the listing is incorrect, I contacted the seller and he gave me the correct VIN WP0AB2A94DS122278

I saw this as well. Did you talk with the seller? I've pretty much not pursued FSBO since most have attitudes when I try and get info to post their cars.

I like this car. Manual, no sunroof, 18 ways, and Burmester. $40K off with $12K miles. He mentions he wants the transaction to go through his Porsche dealer which equals tax savings for him if he's buying another car.

If that's the case, the dealer can CPO it too. Negotiate it! A $3K value. I'd offer $79K and have him pay for the CPO.

Nice car

No, I just emailed him for the correct VIN.
Unfortunately I'm not ready to pull the trigger right now, I thought the listing might be of interest to someone else.

Thanks. Much easier to read than the low resolution report I was sent.

I wonder how thoroughly they check the panels for any repaint and frame for damage. That would be reassuring if they had a thorough process.

It doesn't seem to be very thorough. Seeing two panel can be repainted, they wouldn't even mention it or note it on an inspection. Usually CarFax catches these things "most" of the time.

Yeah that's what I would assume. I don't trust carfax too much either at least as far as minor repairs. I imagine major accident repairs would show up.

I looked at a GTS CPO recently. To my eye, it appeared to have a resprayed rear driver side bumper. When I mentioned it to the sales person, she didn't say a word.

Made my interest waned.
