OMG is correct. We speculate this is a PAG 'press' or 'publicity/marketing' demonstrator of some sort based at Porsche's large 'sales, marketing & consumer support office' at Ludwigsburg. We have discussed it in various of our forums, including at the thread linked below:

I agree but would be tough choice not to get all of the contrasting stitching with the GTS interior package.

Yes, that Targa is 'Lava Orange'. And so is this 911 Turbo S, likely from the same PAG 'Sales & Marketing' department at Ludwigsburg!

Targa again for comparison purposes. Remember cameras lenses & light conditions vary. But it's supposed to be 'Lava Orange'.

We speculate both of these Porsches were rushed to production in 'Lava Orange' for publicity photos & marketing purposes. We didn't think 'Lava Orange' as a 'special color' offering in the 991 would be available for order until MY2016 series production begins in June of 2015. But by now very few things that we see coming from Porsche that are unexpected tend to surprise us... For example, the odd late allocation of 30 PTS '15 gt3s to select US dealers in three unusual colors.

Default 'Lava Orange' is not PTS...that's the beauty of it all!

Well, it's better than that Larry. It's not a PTS color. It's a 'Special Color' offered on some regular models. So it's only $3140 vs $5500 for PTS. It doesn't require any special permission as a PTS 'Porsche Exclusive' option nor will it involve any production delay (normal to PTS). So it's a great deal for those that will like to have this beautiful 'vintage/historic' early 911 color (formulated a few shades away from the original 'Blutorange/Tangerine') on their MY2016 Porsche.

Zanzibar is a metallic and I was never a big fan.

Wow! I really need to see this color in the flesh. Too much variation in the digital renderings for me to be sure what it's really like (both from the camera and my monitor), but if it is just a few shades off Blutorange and non-metallic as you say, Eduardo, I am stoked! Wish they would offer it on the GT4...

It might be Guards Red actually. Funny cause on my monitor at work it looked way more orange... clearly the colour accuracy on my Lenovo flat panel is way off.
