Default A little guidance.

Which is a better choice. A 997 C2S or 991 C2? I really want the 991 c2s but trying to see what the finances look like. Any guidance would be appreciated. A friend of mine told me a 997 Turbo is the best bang for around 70k.

I think the general wisdom is to buy the newest car you can afford. Rather than let general wisdom and folks here dictate your decision though, let the car tell you. Drive them both and pick what you like better.

There's nothing IMO that really justifies the purchase of one of these cars "by the numbers". It's about what you feel when you drive it and the smile it puts on your face. Leave the other stuff in the dust bc at the end of the day it's not what matters.

Good luck!

My previous car was a 997 C2S Cab and now I drive a 991 C2 Cab...The 991 has 350HP vs my old 991S 355HP but I don't notice a difference in power since the 991 is lighter than 997, however everything else in the 991 is way better that 997...in my opinion go with the 991 C2 and you'll be a happy guy.

What Rc77 said.

There's not much more to say without repeating what he said.

Drive both though!

Me neither. By the numbers you could get a Vette or a Mustang so we know its not about the numbers. Drive, feel, and you'll know.

depends on whether you like the electric or mechanical steering. Try them both.

I always say "buy the best car that you can afford". That's not always the newest.

You answered the question yourself already. Now you just need to find one.

The 997 is a great car (I had one). The 991 is a better car (I have one) in most regards. The steering is better in the 997. The 997 is also a bit more raw, if that's something that you want.
