The integration with the 9500 makes me think about purchasing one, but so far, my V1 has worked. ALP is supposedly working on a link with the V1.

Only problem has been with the app. When they upgraded the IOS, it required going into settings and changing the privacy settings. This has since been resolved. Customer service has been great.
Would be interested to know how you installed the ALP - not just the heads but how connected to power and where you routed the wires. pM me if you like. Are you using the Bluetooth module - if I have it correct it allows remote control of the unit?

How well does it interface with the V1?

Where did you mount the various internal and external components? Pictures? How does it work as a "parking sensor", as well as for its true intended purpose?

So this is my conundrum.

- I believe the 9500ci radar is probably better than the Escort Max2 (unsure if better than my V1 but the move to escort was more about the reduction in falsing with the GPS lock out functionality etc).
- I can get the 9500ci at a great price right now (I can always return my Max2 which I also got at a great price).
- I could get the Escort LSP and have them installed standalone - but price would be full retail.
- It seems like the ALP is the best on the market - but is significantly more expensive than the Escort LSP.

That last point is the killer.

Ok so you were right -- ALP is the best.

Just go with ALP and be done with it, even though it's more expensive than the others, which are already pricey to begin with.

Look at it this way -- how mad would you be if you went with one of the lower cost options and forked out all of that money for the unit and custom install, and you get nabbed by a cop with a laser gun that it doesn't catch? I would be pissed.

Same conclusion I came to - just trying to figure out what radar would be best to combine - a windshield unit like the Passport Max 2 I have on order, or the Bel StiR+ etc.

I agree that the ALP is the best, but I went with LI simply because it integrates with the Bel StiR-Plus. When I get a laser alert, I can slow down and double-click the mute button on the Bel controller. There is, as far as I know, only one gun that ALP covers and LI doesn't, and I don't think it's in use in more than one or two cities. Integration was more important to me (YMMV).

It's a bit of a technological battle, and any system is going to have weaknesses - if not now then soon.

Weighing my options - anyone have the radar antenna from an Escort 9500ci or Bel STir+ that they would like to offload?

If you're planning on using the antenna with an ALP unit, be aware that you'll be missing the GPS-based auto filtering (which nearly eliminates false alarms). You can get a GPS antenna and have it mute everything under a certain speed, but the Bel/Escort GPS filtering is much, much nicer, IMO.

Thanks - yes I was wondering about that. I was hoping with the band segmentation that it may be possible to overcome that issue.

I would steer clear of Escort altogether! I just had a 9500CI installed at an authorized dealer/installer and have had problems with getting the GPS connected. Escort refuses to send out a new CPU...they want me to have the dealer take apart my car then mail Escort the faulty CPU...Then put my car back together...wait 7 to 10 days for Escort to refresh their faulty CPU...then they mail it back to my dealer...then they take my car apart AGAIN.... then it probably still won't work...I suppose at that time they will send a NEW CPU...what a load of crap. Sorry for the Rant

I just got a quote for $3800 system installed. 10% off if dealer sends car over at delivery. A bit much.

Remember, you're talking about an "installed" system. The value of the price is relative to the quality and level of the integration performed. For a "peel and stick" install from a run-of-the-mill shop — $3,800 is definitely a stretch. That being said, it's not unusual to see one of these systems go for $4-6k installed by a real professional integrator.

As an example, take a look at how much work goes into doing it the right way: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9166...er-system.html

Make sure you check out the new remote Net Radar that integrates with the ALPs.
