Would the deviated stitching along the upper door trim clash with the rest of the standard darker stitching in the door and elsewhere in the interior? Anyone have pictures of this ?
I think it would work. Imagine attachment #1 with 'Silver' deviating stitching instead of 'Red' on top door panel!

I would not recommend it.

When I can get onto my regular computer, and can use the 3D Configurator, I'll try to spec a Turbo to see if it will let me see deviating stitching options available. Can't wait to see the pics of your car!
kwikit, you can get deviating stitching for the rear center tunnel leather option, however the deviating stitching for that option is a seperate extra cost option (it's on the dealer's config system, not our online system).

I agree with Eduardo that it wouldn't look good. All of your other deviating stitching will be red stitching on black leather. With the rear center tunnel, you'd have one place with black stitching on red leather. Unless you carried that black on red to everywhere else (seats and door centers, armrests and pulls), I don't think it would look right.

Thanks! Do you know if a light colored stitching is hard to keep clean ? Someone had recommended against it because he thought it would darken over time.

PyschicDreamer --- beautiful combo! You get both the red (seats) and the deviated red stitching on black. I really like this look and the silver trim really sets it off.

Nice!

That is a myth. The materials used on modern automotive interior today is color-fast polyester-type threads and will keep their color over time. And any temporary coloration over them (e.g. new Blue Jean stains) will wash clean with proper leather cleaners. I would not worry. For an example of how attractive a distinctive 'silver/platinum grey' stitching is on a 'black' Porsche 991 interior, check the standard interior used for the gt3 in 'Platinum Grey', especially with the full leather option. The deviating stitching in 'Silver' would be as attractive...or even more so.

Thanks Eduardo and hinckley. I have to agree that two different colors of deviating stitching on different leather colors only works, if at all, when that theme is used (in my case) on the seats and probably door panels, etc. Since we cannot do a la carte deviating stitching on a GTS, I'm going to leave the tunnel area stitching red. However, the black dash with red deviating stitching that Eduardo showed really enables me to want to follow hinckley's original suggestion. (As an aside, I really hope there are no women reading these posts, as I would definitely lose what little is left of my mind if I ever again have to shop for furniture or drape fabrics/patterns with a female equipped with the ammo we're providing. And now I've really stepped in it.)

One last question, for now at least: Am I correct in believing that it is NOT possible for US customers to request the higher capacity fuel tank? Just a guess, but maybe Porsche would have to submit separate crash tests with the larger fuel tank. Bummer.

kwikit, you may want to check out my post of the deviating stitching that came with my Espresso/Cognac GTS interior. I also ordered the vents in leather and was unsure, but they came in deviated stitching as well. fwiw, that's another pretty pricey option, but I really didn't like the shiny aluminum trim around the Espresso dash, so I went for it. Personally, I don't think it's as much of an issue around the Black dash of the Black/Garnett interior. Now I'm off to the fabric store . . . Lot's to do . . . !!
