Default 991 side mirrors

I just moved from 997S with sport design side mirrors to 991S....and I find the 991 side mirrors have a huge blind spot as about 1" less in width than my previous 997 mirrors. Has anyone else foumd 991 mirrors to be problematic? I am looking at putting on the aspherical drivers side mirror to help with the blind spot.....anyone tried those? Thx

No issues here. I suggest you adjust your mirrors better. Objects should move from your rear view mirror and then transition into sight in your side mirrors. Blind spot is negligible. And that can be eliminated with the proper head turn and use of your peripheral vision.

I don't have any issues either. I adjust my mirrors pretty far out. I have them just past my view of the rear fenders. That said, if I'm not passing people (to see them pass through my mirrors) then I am doing frequent scanning head checks anyway.

No head checks are necessary if your mirrors are properly adjusted to eliminate blind spots. A vehicle moving faster than you on the left (I know, it is inconceivable) should be seen first in your rear view mirror and as it disappears from your rearview it should start appearing in your left side mirror. When it disappears from your left side mirror you should be able to pick it up with your peripheral vision. Do the same on the right side and you're all set!

What you meant to say was that as the car you're passing goes back out of peripheral vision it should appear in the side mirror, etc. The other situation is, uh
