Default No more PTS until MY '16

I noticed that the PTS option had disappeared from the Configurator, so I emailed my dealer to verify this couldn't possibly affect my order, since I had already been delayed from September to November to February '15.
I was wrong. No PTS for me.
Anyone with outstanding PTS orders might want to check on things.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I'm not very happy.

Yup. Very sad, but I believe the window closed a little whole ago (it lingered on the configurator). It'll reopen soon enough, but I don't know how that impacts in progress orders. I resume those not confirmed yet get rejected (PTS requests)...

A Rennlist sponsor, Sonnen Porsche / Brett Payne, and resident PTS sales expert, can give you a much better answer if he sees this.

Hmm, you mention Feb 2015... I thought PTS reopens around then, but I could be mistaken. Maybe it was March?

Yup, and that's why I'm waiting for a late model year 991 GT3 RS. It must be PTS for me.

And hopefully my feasibility request, via Brett, for 226 Chartreuse / Lime Green, get approved in time. Otherwise, Maritime Blue or Mexico Blue may be the winners.

Start of '16 production may be Feb. '15.... especially if there's a major 992 update.

Default This is NOT good...

Keith: This is not good news, as it doesn't bode well for the whole PTS program at Porsche if it is indeed true. I have been anticipating the face lifted MY2016 .2 991 (or 992) to start production in late Spring of 2015. Some sources have recently speculated that it's debut would be delayed until the IAA (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) at Frankfurt in September and production of the '16 .2 991 would start later that Fall. Either way (6 or nearly 10 months) is quite a long time without PTS if that email is correct...and it would be unprecedented in recent history at 'Porsche Exclusive'!

So if it's true, it puts into question whether PAG is currently re-evaluating PTS as a viable option, with all of its coordination & production headaches/liabilities for the company. Thus it would NOT surprise me, should they decide to continue with PTS, if they up the price considerably starting with MY2016 for this option. So caveat lector.

Latern: I don't anticipate Porsche will allow PTS on the MY2015 991 gt3 RS. Given the many unique body parts on this model, I anticipate that many of these will be manufactured & painted by outside vendors to arrive 'just in time' to the production assembly line at Zuffenhausen. Thus, I think they'll limit the colors of the 'RS' model to just 4 or 5...and no PTS for the first year of production! But that is just a hunch...we will find out their plan soon enough! Just in case, if I was you, I would start warming up to 'Blutorange/Tangerine' if you are interested in a 'different-from-normal' coloring on your '15 991 RS.

Saludos,
Eduardo
