Home at Last! Thanks RL
Just seven short weeks after drop off following ED, my car finally made it home -- the car arrived on Friday but the dealer forgot to call me. I went down Saturday to check on the status in person because it had been 4 days since it left the port of San Diego, and there it was, ready for its second delivery. Not really happy about not getting the call, but my disquiet was assuaged by actually getting the car!
Anyhow, I want to thank those who helped me with all of the build decisions and the decision to do ED.
Final Build: sure to be a classic, well for me anyhow.
C2S: tried faster and slower, this was just right. Never considered the "4;" I have my BMW X5 for all of my "4" needs. I love the classic 2-wheel push from the rear.
PDK: time for automatic for me after 20 "stick" years with BMW 5. PDK is remarkably smooth.
GT Silver Metallic: originally considered agate grey and amaranth red, but then saw Just J's photos and that was that. I love the look.
Two-tone leather interior, platinum grey and black with carpet in deviated standard color in black. Thanks Eduardo for the guidance.
Carrera S Wheels: really liked the sports techno wheels LexVan, but I did not like the lack of symmetry in the left-side/right-side aspect.
Glass Sunroof: would not buy a car without a glass sunroof. Looks great with the GT Silver.
Sports Design Mirrors: they do not automatically fold, but the car is pretty narrow as it is. The look is outstanding.
Deletion of Model Designation: model badging a bit busy to me.
PDL Plus, LED: you were right LexVan, they are freek'n cool. They really light up the night. I am enjoying the high beam assist.
Park Assist w/Rev. Camera: not quite as good as BMW's system imo, but still pretty good.
Fuel Cap Alum. Look (I know, I know, it's plastic, I just like the look)
Premium Pkg. 18-way: fits me like a hand in a glove. Just drove 1,000 miles in two days and not saddle sore.
Dials in Black: so happy to have learned that the standard rpm dial is grey. I would not have liked that.
Sport Design Steering Wheel: silver, grey, and black interior all look great to me. The "granny paddles" have an "other" worldly look. I use the stick in the manual mode, however.
Bose: system sounds great to me. Mainly in the off mode as I love the sound of the engine and these cars are not an audiophile environment anyhow.
Porsche Crest on Headrests: look cool to me.
Smoking package: not a smoker, just looks better imo.
Stainless steel threshold.
No sports chrono: only wanted the motor mounts out of the package. Definitely did not want Big Ben on the dashboard.
No PSE: "I prefer the stealth mode," I forget who wrote that. I consider the pops and gurgles to be more of a muscle car feature; just my preference.
No rear wiper: originally had this in my build but got talked out of it by RL and the TT at my club with a rear wiper that was never properly "tucked away" at the margin of the window.
ED: thanks to ClangPap, Vic 50th, Balaclava and Stealthboy. It was a remarkable experience.
Best to all. Duke

Great job, Duke! One of the coolest things in life, is being able to custom build your own Porsche, right down to every last detail. Enjoy!!
