Default do you get vibration from exhaust or muffler

Hello all,

does anyone here noticed some vibration from the mufflers or exhaust?

this is the way I get a lot of vibration I think does come from the muffler, maybe not..

when the car is at Idle on D or R and you have your foot on the brake if you let it go, but don't press gas, the car will make a brum brum vibration that to me, is coming from the mufflers..

another way is to have the foot on the brake and just let barely let it go, kind of pumping on it but not letting the car move..

the last one if you have a little bit of slope and you take the foot of the brake the car will put some load and you get the vibration..

nothing on the rear end or back, but plenty in the ear. in fact, with the cold temperatures (mid 40's) these days the PSE seems louder?? denser air

had a similar issue (rattle), most evident at idle. Put pressure on exhaust tip with my foot and rattle stopped. Dealership corrected

Seems to me your scenarios might be invoking the hill-hold feature - do you think it is the brake activation/deactivation you are hearing?

It may be a loose exhaust or more likely a heat shield. I had a rattle at idle that was more pronounced when cold, similar to the OP. My dealer was unable to locate the problem. I located my rattle by tapping the underside of my car around the exhaust and heat shields until I heard a "tinny" rattle. I was able to slightly bend a heat shield that was touching an adjacent heat shield.

Good luck with your issue.

I think mine is more of a rumbling vibration coming from engine towards the muffler, but maybe not
