Some of us older members who watched the show as kids when it was new may not know that his father was much more famous . In fact, I always regarded him as Otto's son , as did nearly all media writers of the time .

Otto Klemperer is one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century. I have some CDs and MP3s of his recordings. On the other hand, I've never watched his son's TV shows. I'm in my late 20's. I don't know, but I think that this comic-actor son would have been a disappointment to Otto Klemperer, a great artist in classical music.

So, what you're saying, if asked about his son he might reply, "I know nothing!"

Yes, most likely. If his son was a classical musician or another sort of a real artist, the father would have been more proud. This Otto Klemperer was an old-guard European in the end. His music style itself was quite conservative.

Well, that's a relief. For a minute there I thought you were going to tell me no, that's what Sgt Schultz would say.
