Excitement for the new GTS?

I was looking forward to it to get the GTS interior bling for $3600; now I see they also require some Communications package nonsense for another $4000 and basically steal any value there. With my configuration costing $128k before a discount I'm just gonna stick with my CPO C2S or trade if for a 997.2 3rs
Decent deal for anyone that doesn't have a 991 yet I guess.

I was waiting for this.... and I have to say I'm a bit underwhelmed. Not sure what I was expecting. But looking at my modded 991S, it;s stance (lowered), wheels, and added power (minor) with exhaust modifications I see no reason to switch things up to move to a GTS. Kinda disappointed.
I would like to test drive a GT3 at some point
cheers

Actually I was extremely close. As in nailed it completely. Big time.
The S is about 99k stripped. Add the X51 plus the 18k the OP in question wishes for (in exchange for 30 more hp) and the theoretical car in question would have 460 hp and come in somewhere in the low 130's. The base turbo is 140 and has what, 520 hp?
So the OP in question basically is asking for another power level in the 130's when there already exists a vastly superior power level at almost the same price.

I'm a long term Porsche buyer and I'm used to the silliness, but this is a new low.

Hear hear! What's totally galling is the exact same package with silver stitching does NOT require the Communications Package. So it costs $4K to get red stitching instead of silver.

Turbo starts above 150k, but the part in bold is why I said *Not even close.* With no mention of the torque difference. So I do not think we are disagreeing with each other. Some people talk about what a great value the GT3 is, but an argument could be made for the Turbo, as well.

Another point to consider is that while dealers may give discounts off of MSRP for the C2S and C4S, due to their limited allocations for the GTS they'll probably not be as willing to discount them as much. I was offered a 7% discount right off the bat for a C2S order from my local dealer, but was told that their GTS allocation has already been filled, while another dealer said they "might" be able to give me a 2% discount on a GTS. That 2% would pretty much have put me at either close to the pice range of a similarly equipped C2S with X51 (for the same power) of well above the price of a similarly equipped C4S without X51 (for the looks) with the discounts applied.

If memory served me correctly, I remember towards the end of the 997 run there were GTS's laying around everywhere, dealers were begging to dump them; I know I know it was at end of the life cycle of the 997, and everyone was stoked about the 991. I just don't remember everyone being this ramped up about the GTS? Let alone paying MSRP
