Default 991GTS confirmed to be introduced in LA-SURPRISE?

Mysterious rumor about a facelift 991,code name 992 to be also introduced alongside in LA.

" We can now confirm it will be officially introduced at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show in November, arriving in both coupe and convertible form.

But there is also some more mysterious news from the Porsche frontier.

The company is set to unveil a facelift for the 911 model, with the 991 reaching its fourth birthday this year. But rather than a 991.2 as expected, Motor Trend's Jonny Lieberman has Tweeted that Porsche will unveil the GTS variant with a 992 chassis code in LA.

What this means remains to be seen, but stay tuned for more updates as they come in. "

very cool if it is true ... hopefully there will be cabriolet!

LA though ... I didn't really consider LA as a show where models are released ... but hey ho!

OK I will start my wish/spec list:

we all "know" that it will be:

- "wide body" (C4S) based chassis
- 2 & 4wd options
- coupe and cabriolet (hurrah)
- increased power(kit X51)
- "new" (sport) exhaust
- facelift features
- ...

but there are some interesting variables open:

- MT availability (I vote yes on this, they have one that works OOTB, might as well offer it)
- PDK-S (I'd like to think yes, but I'm guessing this requires additional development to marry the engine
and transmission software so I vote no as unlikely on a "parts bin" special)
- alacantara (likely)
- CL wheel option (50/50)
- PDCC std (please please no!)
- aerokit (optional I'd guess)
- GT3 RWS (I doubt it but you never know)

MSRP should be around the same as the 50th anniversary hopefully has to be cheaper than base GT3!

I don't think PDK-S but I do think there will be a manual. Doubt RWS. Agree with all the other features because it will follow the 997 GTS formula. I think the news is the active aero which we've seen on the mules. Maybe some new rear grillwork, body cutouts. Maybe 992 is really 991.2?

If 992 I wonder what's next...993???!!! LOL.
Are they really going to do facelifts every 4 years now like every Hyundai and Honda out there?! VW management at its best! They're diluting the brand!
