Hello all - I'm thinking of taking advantage of the 12 month pull-ahead program on my '13 C2S and getting into a '14 Turbo, GT Silver over Espresso. Does anyone have personal experience (or thoughts generally) about this color combo? Does it "work?" Thanks!
First all Mr Eg, this is just my opinion, and I am trying to pull in all the things from your post that I can. You want to leave your lease early. The Turbo exists already? Since you are leaving your lease early ( can you tell us more about the pull ahead program) Its not a popular combo. I have never heard of it. So if you want to sell it early or get our of it early you might have trouble doing so.
Thats all I can see and good luck!!
Does it work? Sure, if "work" means looking like every third car on the road these days. Oh yeah, you will seriously blend. (apologies to My Cousin Vinny)
Lemme guess, sandals and black knee sock clad legs will be pulling pedal duty in said Turbo.
The Bentley crew will welcome you for cucumber sandwiches at the polo club any day.
I have personally witnessed said silver over espresso and can assure you that it is no great leap of faith. It will offend nor inspire anyone. It is only slightly less bland than silver over black.
Go racing yellow over espresso.
Silver rocks the voluptuous curves of an 80's Carrera but turns a 991 into milquetoast.
Pardon my venom but I just returned from Europe and witnessed many exotic flavoured 991s in and about the Munich region. We should have such creativity in NA.
Every third car is GT Silver/Espresso? Yet another guy (technically another Old Guy) never heard of it? Is this RL? Or The Twilight Zone?
I forget whose it is but there's a beautiful example Turbo S here on RL, and I can guarantee its no milquetoast. Its a beautiful color combo. Relatively uncommon, definitely not unheard of. Here it is on a C4S. Looks surprisingly good- even better, I think- with the Turbo carbon fiber. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...-espresso.html
GT Silver is a great color. The Espresso is natural leather, so you get the full thickness of the hide, unlike all the other leather interior combos (except Carrera Red and Espresso/Cognac natural leather choices as well).
Every third car looking like a GT silver TT? Not in my neighborhood...
Thanks for all of the opinions, guys. If I were building the car and selected GT Silver, I'd do it with a red/black interior, no question. Options are more limited when selecting out of dealer stock. I've looked at a bunch of pics and I'm just not feeling the espresso interior. To me it looks a bit too "mature," and I'd be getting into this TT as a nice 40th bday present for myself. I still consider myself too young for a brown interior . . .

Did they just add the MY13 911 to the program in August?
Yes, they added MY '13 Carreras to the 12 month pull ahead program in connection with the July-September lease program. Up until July, there was only a 3-month pull ahead on MY '13 cars.
i would care less about how its perceived to others than how it feels to you. i have gt silver and black interior and i love it everytime i look at it. i don't give a f if its perceived as boring and safe. i can afford to do whatever i want and picking gt silver falls under that umbrella
I have GT Silver with Espresso, beautiful combo. Not really understanding some of the responses here but that is what make it a forum, many opinions. I'd order this again with no reservations.

Yeah, Espresso will work. But why don't you go with the two-tone natural leather Espresso/Cognac? Cognac actually work well with GT Silver and Agate Grey, as I've seen them in person.
If you really want to stick to monotone Espresso, I think you should get some deviated stitchings in Platinum Grey to match the silver exterior and the aluminum interior parts.
I any case, Porsche's natural leather interior is much better than their plain leather one.
