New 991 GTS

I know, I was just making a point that it is a tighter squeeze in the 911 line up compared to the Cayenne so no obvious gap to fill - don't forget there is no GT3 between S & Turbo on Cayenne ... hence it makes more sense for Porsche to repeat the same timeline intro as that of 997 as they make more money from optioned cars than GTS.

Again, harking back to the 997.2 GTS - it included the "S" X-51 engine as standard, which includes PSE. Looking at the 50th Anniversary 991, I think we're seeing the GTS. Wide body, X-51 - both the same as 997.2 GTS. Throw in the Alcantara interior with leather as an option, centerlock wheels (with, hopefully, 5-bolts still available as an option), delete the hounds tooth upholstery and special paint colors, and voila! I think that'll be the 991 GTS. I'd expect it to be available as both PDK and manual transmission.
Each of the GTS models has a power bump - Panamera, Cayman/Boxster, and Cayenne. I expect the 991 to be no different. All the GTS models have alcantara interiors as standard, so I again expect the same from the 991. The only "curve" I've seen in the spy photos is the new exhaust that shows in some photos - not the dual centered exhausts of the GT3, nor the standard 4 pipes of the S. Will Porsche come up with a 3rd exhaust system for the GTS? My guess is that they will not, that the GTS exhaust will be the sport exhaust from the S.
But all of this is guesswork. Generally speaking, I find history to be a good predictor of the future. We'll see!

[My thoughts exactly

. It's truly amazing and I wish that the price were lower so that many more people could drive such an amazing drivers car. It's the best car I have driven and the lines/styling are incredible IMHO.[/QUOTE]

it has to come in somewhere between the MSRP of the Targa and the GT3 ...
The only other "curve" in those spy photos are the "intercooler" slats in the rear bumper that were a feature of every turbo (and 996 4S) since the 996!
I note that you might have to move the exhaust tips inboard somewhat to accommodate intercoolers

I drove it this past Saturday at the njmotorsports facility at the porsche experience day. It definitely exists and is done at this point. I am guessing it will be available very soon, give that the latest magazine had an insert extolling its virtues. It was a very fun car to drive, but a bit small for my taste, interior wise.
Red car in the background. The interior is all alcantara'd out and it is lowered with sport pasm. I believe they said it was 350 hp.sorry for the lousy photo. The one in front of that is the boxster gts.
