Ask the same question in 5 years at ANY Porsche dealership. Everyone that I know who has actually tried PDK loves it. I'm surprised it's zero---would have guessed 10%.Can McLaren/Ferrari/Lamborghini/Pagani/Bugati/Maserati/Mercedes/Jaguar all be wrong? Porsche and BMW must be feeling a little bit lonely. I wonder what % of M4 sales will be MT? Dying breed....get it while you still can.

I think the ones who are still buying new MT have half an eye on the future value of last MT but if I was them I would put the money on a proper MT like the 6 speed box.

Yea that's not really surprising. Get on the 405 at the wrong time and it's not a huge amount of fun creeping through traffic in a MT. MT might be a dying breed but I still enjoy it, not out of nostalgia or anything just because I genuinely prefer it. PDK is great - better in MT in every single way except for the one that matters to me the most - my personal enjoyment of the vehicle.
I agree at some point I'll be forced into it and there is no avoiding it. Almost got to that point already. Finding one of those aforementioned italian cars in not only a MT but in a rare color to boot was a massive undertaking. I suspect the Porsche I buy when I decide to retire the current one will be a PDK as there won't be any other choice. I'll change with the times but not until I have to.

Aside from this bit of frustration, though, PDK is great on the track. It's funny...twenty years ago, many would buy a car with an automatic for the street for its convenience, and a manual for the track for its speed and control. Now, with dual-clutch and clutchless sequential manual gearboxes having shown their superiority in many race cars, a PDK would seem to be the choice for a track car, while a manual is chosen for a street car for a feeling of involvement and nostalgia.

I might be wrong but doesn't the current 7 MT have automatic rev matching? Isn't rev matching (ie heel and toe ) the talent that takes skill? If the MT is going to automatically rev match and blip then why not just get the PDK in the first place? But then again, maybe I'm wrong.
