What cleaning products do you use on your Porsche?
I have a new black 991 model 911 and don't want to ruin the paint, but plan on washing it myself monthly and get a pro wax every quarter. What materials do you guys use including cloths, cleaner, towels etc.? Bonus points for links to exactly what you use so I can order it off amazon.com or something like it! Thanks
Update: I was it twice a week, I don't know what I was thinking... I wrote that when I just got it and never had such a nice car before. This thread gets very helpful after the first few posts!

They say black really isn't a color. It's a hobby.

What happened?!?
Okay, based on washing once a mmmm--ad-f-…fm.ds;l…. uh, not often, this stuff will last a good long time.

Sure you could just use a 5 gal bucket but when you check the pricing its practically free, and its not like you'll be using it much anyway so when you factor in how great this stuff looks just sitting on the shelf its a no-brainer. I mean hey, Griot's looks so good Money pours his autopia stuff into Griot's bottles just to make his pictorials look better!
Of course no monthly;lkdhtlghjguspugsg er infrequent car wash is complete without a brand new air freshener, and thanks in advance for the bonus points… https://www.breakingbadstore.com/a1a...tails/28761328
Cheers!

Washing a black 911 monthly? good luck with that, given that a full detail on the black car lasts about ten minutes or ten miles, whichever comes first (although it is a glorious ten minutes!)
No question it is a labor of love

This has been discussed in detail, but basically you'll want to clean it more than once a month and good luck with the black paint.
A few observations:
- You'll get obsessed
- Use high-quality microfiber towels
- Use a quick detailer in between washes to keep it clean
- A whole wash session takes me two hours
- I use Griot's Garage, AMMO NYC, and Chemical Guys products

ONR whenever it looks like it needs it, outside if the weather is warm or in the garage when its cold. 3 bucket system (wash, rinse and wheel buckets) with grit guards. Microfiber mits and towels, wheel brush, wheel well brush, sometimes a lugnut brush. Blastmaster 8hp filtered air dryer. Rainex on the windshield once a season. Once a year (yeah that's right) get the exterior professionally detailed/clay barred/sealed for around 100 to 150 bucks.
That's it. Looks awesome all the time.
These things are meant to be driven IMO.
