FREAKING AWSOME!!!!!!
Recently picked up my 2014 C4S 7speed MT and although I only have 50 miles on the odo I know I love this car/engine. The engine is reminiscent of my E46 M3 in the way that the revs build the power becomes apparent (note I am technically in break In for the first couple of hundred miles).
The 7 speed MT is a joy to play with and honestly it's certainly one of the best MTs I have driven, the gates are perfectly spaced and all the gears are easily selectable. The throw is a little long for my liking but not detrimental, on the track I would want to shorten the throw. I found the gear indicator was quite helpful in that I found myself on one occasion trying to Remember where I was gear wise. Surprisingly this was not an issue when in Sport+ as the rev match on the downshift helps to keep track of where you are.
The ride overall is pretty darn good in normal and is sufficiently stiff in sport+ for the street and in my opinion most DE days, note I have Sports PASM. From a steering standpoint I barely notice the electric steering and the only give away is the lack of steering play when going over rough pavement. On perfectly smooth pavement I wouldn't be able to tell hydraulic from electrically assisted steering.
The controls are superb no real complaints at all, hooked my iPhone up with no issues, took less than a minute to synch with homelink. The bose stereo is fine but definitely not audiophile worthy, for what I listen to its fine for me. From a cabin standpoint the only thing I found a little surprising, and annoying, is the amount of sound penetration from the wheel wells when gravel gets kicked up off the street.
The engine, what can I say? It's fabulous, I love NA engines and this one is special, the crescendo from the exhaust as the revs climb, the wave of acceleration as it builds is quite phenomenal, I never thought I would drive a car with an engine quite as good as that in the E46 M3 but all I can say is, this ones better! The additional torque is most welcome and it is very flexible with the trans it is mated to, it's hard to really to find yourself without adequate power for most street situations.
Overall I'm happy and excited to see how the car responds when the rings are adequately seated and I can start leaning on the throttle a little more, but so far so good!

Great review. I couldn't agree more about the engine and the gear box. Definitely the best MT I've driven by a good measure. Almost 7k miles and it puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up. Enjoy it!
