Ordered a Targa 4S
Placed the order today, although local dealer is waiting on an allocation.
Time to join the 991 party. The option finalization game has begun, lots of choices. Should be fun.

Check all the boxes. You deserve it! Congrats.

The Targa black roof, stainless roll bar and back glass area creates a wonderful upper demarcation line for a powerful exterior color in the bottom half of a 911. At least that is how it works on my 1970 911E Targa with the striking 'Crystal Blue' special order factory paint and its black top, stainless roll bar & rear glass area! I strongly suggest to all that go through the trouble to custom order a 991 Targa to at least consider a 'strong' exterior color to contrast with the top part of the car when designing the color combo for your particular vehicle! Some PTS colors might be 'too much' (overwhelming & overpowering) on a 991 coupe. Yet these same colors might just be 'right' and perfectly balanced on a 991 Targa! Just a suggestion that might be useful to some of you.

Great news, Jupjai. You are retaining the PTS 'Birch Green/Lichtgrün' exterior color & 'Espresso' interior?

Considering your breadth of knowledge and in person viewings of so many different combos, I for one would very much appreciate it. I have been thinking of ordering a Targa and trading my Boxster, but my first impression was that I really dislike the black canvas roof. I like the roll bar and rear glass a lot, but not that mini cab roof. My initial thinking was the car would need to be black or dark blue, so I would really like more details about your take on the subject.
Thanks Eduardo and a big Congrats to OP - I admit to being semi-jealous.

Without the dealer allocation I'm going to have way to much time to think it over. I'm a sucker for leather and starting with Agate/ expresso-cognac...but Eduardo has me thinking of maybe yellow, guards red, full black leather with deviated stitching. Fun daydreaming ...all day daydreaming....hmm

Any indication yet whether the first 991 Targas will be MY '14 or '15? I thought they would be arriving at dealers this summer and thus could be '15s but if some dealers are receiving them as early as March (report above for Ft. Myers) then '14 is much more likely. Leaks of a 991 refresh for the MY '15s has me wondering if the new Targa will be included in the refresh at the outset or later.

So first Targas will be MY2014 with MY2015 starting somewhere in june.

Thanks for clarifying the refresh date and initial MY designation for the first Targas. Raises the age old question of purchasing from the first allocations from the "old" MY or waiting a couple of months to get the benefit of new MY designation which may help in retaining value a bit longer, at least theoretically.
