Went to Detroit Auto Show to see intro. Came home and ordered 4S in Sapphire Blue. Danbury Porsche got me a very early production slot and the car goes to production next week. Scheduled to be delivered to me on July 4th.

Color will be close to my 73E Targa - Metallic Blue

'Next week' is the first week of May, 2014. Your order is for a MY2015 991 Targa, correct? Are you saying that Danbury has confirmed to you that Porsche Zuffenhausen is starting to build (enter into line production) a MY2015 991 at this early date in May? The earliest MY2015 991 production I have heard from a US dealer is first week of June, 2014. It would not surprise me if factory production of the first MY2015 991's actually start in late May. But first week in May, according to your dealer?!?

And as a new 991 model, the first Targa deliveries to customers will NOT start until a precise date in late June in Germany (for European Delivery to North Americans at Zuffenhausen or factory delivery to European customers). Can you verify these production dates for your 991 Targa and report back to us. Your dealer should have a factory production schedule with codes, etc. The process & codes will look something like this:

I have the factory print out with all of this codes. At the NY Auto show on 4/18, PCNA personnel told me that production had just started.

By the way, I love your 1973 911E Targa. These long hoods are very close to my heart. 'Blue Metallic' 324, not 'Gemini Blue' 330, correct? I love the blues!

yes Metallic Blue - almost bought a Gemini blue S targa the won its class at Amelia Island last year.

order is for 2015 MY - Danbury pulled some strings to get me this early date as a long time customer. I'll keep you posted on the progress and photos when it comes. I got the 20 inch Carrera classic wheels like on the dark ad car

One thing though, the order lag is apparently 12 months.
