It's amazing how much larger the newer cars are. I think for the better

Mine arrived at Dealer last Friday along with their launch car. Didn't see launch car but they got Black.
I was there to see it Saturday with my 73 targa and the dealer took a similar shot to post on their website.
Won't get my car until 6/23 as they need this week for normal arrival activity and adding plastic protection. I leave Fri for the Porsche Parade so they won't have it done anyway.
May not actually get it until the national launch date I think is 6/26 but will have it then for sure.
Here it is! (think the new ones are big???)

ITS home at last
Picked it up today - put a quick 50 miles on it and then back to work! (Its parked at work)
Dealer has their one targa and maybe no more until December. They are making more 4S's so 4's are even in shorter supply.
Brokers has been offering the Dealer $6,000+ over sticker to get the 4S Targa they have.

Here's the latest in the long running saga of my Targa 4S
Vehicle delivered to Davisville Port on 6/20. I monitored the progress of the Swallow Ace and saw it docked in the morning and departed that same evening. The PVMS tracking didn't show the vehicle as entering the port until 6/23 but I've become familiar to the inefficiency and inaccuracy of the Porsche system.
PDI in and PDI finished also on 6/23
Monroney printed on 6/25
Another PDI finished on 6/26
These are all actual dates. The expected date for dealer delivery is shown as 7/4
Now I'm being told that because of a shortage of owners manuals the dealer delivery date won't be until 7/11 (maybe)
I'm becoming suspicious about whether there was damage in shipping that is taking them this long to repair.
My car entered the body shop 2 days after a57356's but will take over a month longer to be delivered.
It's a good thing I didn't take ED. I would be spending the summer in Europe waiting for Porsche to get their act together.

Today is my 3-week anniversary with the new Targa 4S. Here's a picture of the day I bought it, along with my previous 981 Boxster in foreground. Only a couple hundred miles so far, but I'm really enjoying it.

A57356.
Beautiful color and car!
A little tip from one guy to another that has experience with light deviated stitching on the dash and doors. If you allow a detailer or heaven forbid a car wash touch that car, tell them to only do the outside. A good detailer will just know (hopefully) but always use a perfectly clean/new microfiber to wipe the dash down. That beautiful but light stitching cooks in the sun and if you don't use a clean cloth to clean that stitching it will get dirty quick. Trust me. Just like that brand new pair of white tennis shoes as a kid.
Good luck and drive in good health.

Please!
More pics of that silver beauty. Especially from behind. Want to see that widebody and that Targa rear window.
Congrats!

Definitely not normal! The car has been cursed from the start. First it was in production for 26 days instead of the usual 7 days. Then it was on the dock because the car lacked the proper "manuals" is what I was told. Now it is waiting for enough vehicles going to Chicago to be bundled in a transport.
