Hello everyone. I hope this is the correct forum for new owner posts.
I just traded my 2010 Cayman S for a 2013 Carrera S. This is my first Rennlist post so I'm giving a brief shout out to everyone. I'm the second owner of this 3k mile car and I was really drawn to it by the list of performance options. It was like the first owner knew exactly what I wanted right down to the color and manual transmission. The Cayman was my first Porsche and I only acquired it back in April however I quickly realized why people become Porsche enthusiasts. I loved the 987 Cayman but I wanted a little more---more performance, more refinement, more options, more style.
I only have one quick question about service history. My local dealer said that the service history is only stored at the dealership where maintenance is performed. Is that normal and is it important to have the history transferred to my local dealer? The local dealer just shrugged when I asked them this question. Curious if anyone has had any experience one way or the other.
Sorry I don't have better pictures. It snowed here yesterday in Bellevue and I really had to resist taking the car outside. Naturally I had it out today as soon as the snow cleared.

Congratulations. That is a beauty.
I don't know about the dealer issues. Seems strange that they would not assist you in getting the service history. Perhaps you can get it from where it was serviced yourself.

Beautiful car. I saw it when I was looking for my own. And it popped up in a previous thread here too.
Very well optioned.

To find out more, call Mazy Hassanpour | Porsche General Sales Manager, Phone:503-601-3079; or DJ House | Porsche Service Manager, Phone:503-641-8600 to get the info. Sunset is a reputable dealer and I am sure they will treat you correctly! I am surprised your local dealer can not input the VIN # of this car & automatically get its full service history via PCNA's nationwide computers. Odd.

PS Your car has the expensive Escort Passport 9500 ci installed. I had that on my '07 Carrera S and loved it. That package is both a radar detector and a laser 'defense' system. Lucky you!

The car was sold one year ago by the same salesman at Sunset Porsche who sold the car to me. He said that the car had its 12 month oil change service in November. I'll give Sunset a call so that I can keep a copy for my records. I got a better 'deal' on the Cayman but I'll never buy another high end car from a Dodge dealer again. The post sales customer service was non existent and there was something fishy about the whole experience.
The aftermarket accessories are very well done. The first owner clearly spared no expense but apparently the new turbo is just too tempting. I haven't played with the radar detector settings. It correctly identified a highway speed trap today.
I'll talk to the local dealer again. When I brought my Cayman there earlier this year they were very helpful and even though the car was from out of town, they were able to pull the build sheet plus some prior TSB history. The recent conversation wasn't with their service department and possibly that was the problem.

Wow! Gorgeous car. Congrats. Well played, sir!
I too bought my last p-car as the second owner. I was able to get all the prior service records from the original dealer, but it took some persistence. I'm glad I did too, as I found out that a problem that crept up on me early on, was due to sloppy workmanship on a prior repair. Porsche had to pay for that one!
