Don't let it get you down. The steering wheel will be replaced under warranty and hopefully the car will be as good as new. In the meantime, enjoy it and congrats on the new car! The 991 is truly an awesome machine.

if you change the steering wheel you might end up with a reconstructed title...

you mean like forum thread followers or stitching enthusiasts? Confusing when you have a thread about thread.

After reading this my 991 issue looks trivial )
But then one would never put corvette in the same league as Porsche as far as built and finish quality is concerned....

I must be reading this wrong. Are you saying there's a league in which they could be considered the same? The league of four wheels, perhaps? Toro, Deere, Corvette....

I will take it off your hands for 45K. No need to keep worrying about it.

Honestly bro.

Those two pieces just click together. I have the poor mans plastic interior so that part around the column is only plastic.

The dealer will have or already has ordered a new upper and lower column piece in black for you. The adhesive that holds the leather to the plastic has failed a little. Hardly worth getting really upset over. I know everyone has posted ridiculous comments and such but don't let it it get to you. From your initial post you made it seem like the stitching on your steering wheel had some major issue or something. I know it's a new car and a Porsche but again, nothing in this world is perfect. That's an easy fix. Once they receive the new part they can replace it while you wait!

Congrats on your new car.

hey, I don't see any Big Gulp anywhere on the production line. No wonder it won't fit in the cup-holder.
