Title made it sound like the car caught on fire and the door locking mechanism wouldn't let you out... I am glad you're safe and will survive this ordeal.

Ha Ha ha!! Nice. For sure!

Not to downplay your disappointment but it does happen. Who knows. Maybe the last guy who drove the car out of the high pressure water booth missed it. It happens and they will correct it.

Steering column? You mean the wheel?

Take a picture if you dare.

Oh.

lol and what RNL said.

"the only thing you can't fix is a dead man."

That's the truth. And even Jesus can fix a dead man so everything can be fixed.

No rattles!

I thought the steering wheel column piece is a snap on and remove of the dashboard is not needed.

Anyway, the stitch might been hard to see but they forgot to install the Sport Chrono on my 997.1. It was hard not to notice the wart was missing on the dashboard!

Utter horror.... Shocked... Worried... A little dramatic for the actual issues you are experiencing

I wouldn't sweat the small stuff.

It'll be fixed..

As the Dalai Lama once said...If it can be fixed, then it is not a problem. If it cannot be fixed, then it is not a problem.

Or as the hipsters say: "First world problem!"

Certainly, there's disappointment in it not being perfect. but other things will happen to this car while you own it, the vast majority of it out of your control. If it's "utter horror" you are looking for, search for the thread from the guy who dropped his iPad and sliced the red leather on his console trim.

And then there's the guy who by the time he got home his 991 had grown bigger than his Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Or was it his Suburban? Anyway, too big for his yard. Next day it was raining- inside the car! The front spoiler fell off several times a day, until finally he traded it straight across for a Triumph TR-6. Now that was a horror story! Well it was a story of some kind anyway....

Chuck, thank you for the reminder and summary. That thread / story was priceless.

Oh my God they are having so many paint and equipment quality issues I cannot believe it. I've owned five Corvettes through the years, and I cannot believe how many poorly finished C7s have made it through QC. Worst new Gen launch I can ever remember.
