I was disappointed when Suzy991 informed me that I would not be able to order the battery pack in PTS. It only comes in lithium silver apparently. Still hoping that I can specify the insulation for the high energy electrical cables in two tone leather from Porche Exclusive when I put my order in for the 911 electric.

I may be speaking too soon but that's one thing I don't like about electrics, modding is all just superficial. Aside perhaps suspension and weight-cutting, we'll all have to be programmers to "wrench" on the engine.

The solar panel is glass. Just get paint to match the green glow.

Solar Panel . PRTSB option. Porsche Real time Solar boost. $19,700

It concentrates all the energy of the sun directly onto a boost button on the wheel.. The 21st century nitrous boost.

But you can only order it i.c.w. with PHEC. Porsche High Energy Cables. $17,324.. that I mentioned earlier. The standard versions cannot handle the load and only come coated with vinyl.

Natural leather insulation in only available icw with PHEC. $2794

Since the solar panel reflections can vary from blue to purple to green, PTS is only available i.c.w. liquid metal variable reflective paint. $79,525

The coming glut of gasoline will make electrics superfluous novelties, outside of heavy smog zones.
Just think, Iran is coming back on line, Canada is developing fast, and the upper Mid-West is producing plenty. The energy it takes to build and dispose of batteries will become a significant cost and pollution issue dampening the electric car effort. Also, the oil companies (the richest corporations in the world) are not going to just lay down and die (remember Phillip Morris, still going strong), they will incentivize further gas car production. Just wait and see.

Just saw an article labeled on "tuning" for Teslas...it had listings on cup holders, body kits, license plate frames and little cushion wraps for your keys.

I shudder in fear if the next time I visit Rennlist and the whole forum is dedicated to something like that.

Is the PCD (Porsche Connected Driving) package worth it? I am not sure the simulated clutch pedal and stick are worth it for $7950... What do you folks think?

But I really wanted to get the PESSE (Porsche Electronic Simulated Sports Exhaust ) which is only available i.c.w. the PCD. I hear PESSE is awesome. It simulates sounds from a massive database of sounds from the original 911 up to the 991 with every variant, C2, C2S, GT3, Turbo and the Carrera GT & 981 in there also. Is that worth the $5950 + the cost of the PCD?

Will these options make me feel more connected and involved with the electric 911?

I could not believe I have to pay extra for PUGP, Porsche Ultra Green Package. Just because I want to extend the driving range by recovering the heat generated from the battery pack to use it for heated seats, they ding me $1275!

Porsche marketing determines pricing based on buyer perceived value. Evidently a significant and dedicated demographic identifies over 90% of the cars performance with a wiggling shifter and vibrating engine bay. Porsche dedicated over $1m in development, ultimately producing the 918, which began as a hybrid that merely sounded like an F1 car. It was only when engineers recognized they had the technology to build an actual engine that sounded as good as their magnetorheological fluid-filled F1 acoustic chassis synthesizers, for lower cost, and added horsepower, that they decided to go with an actual engine instead of just the sound. It was a close call. EPA results on engine sound literally blow away the numbers for an actual engine!

They also have the new Porsche Matrix Simulator adaptor that goes directly into the medulla oblongata. With PMS feeding straight into your skull its amazing how "connected" you will feel!
