The truth is the 991 is overpriced. Even my Porsche salesman said most of his 911 customers just went away with new 911 hitting $140+. Great car, but not a great value.
Bingo. I had a '06 C2S cab. Got it very lightly used for $57k. My co-worker bought a '13 C2S cab last year for about $140k. Nice car for sure....but we are talking $83k in price difference between two cars that the average bloke on the street would swear is the exact same car. I can't see getting back into a 911 until the 991s start coming WAY down on the used market.
Pertaining to the original topic, I've seen several Vettes driving around Bowling Green. I think it sounds great, but that's where the complements end for me. Another guy I work with buys a new Vette every 3-4 years, so hopefully he will get one soon so I can take it for a spin. I'm sure it's fun to drive, just not my cup of tea.
