The magnetic aspect is good, and I think they are definitely more protective than PPF.
Aesthetics are another thing, and to each their own, but I neither hate nor love them—and they seem to look better on some cars than others. Ran them on my Brewster car for a while, and they were pretty subtle but somehow didn't belong. Also, while they do provide more protection, I began to wonder what would happen to the extended PPF around them after a while—would I remove them after a few thousand miles only to see a shark-fin-shaped bit of perfection surrounded by micro tears? And on a car with the factory PPF, would the perfect area be surrounded by paint chips?
I've decided to use them if I take the car back out on track again, as the area they cover is one of the prime spots for tire boogers, and for times I am going on a drive where the road or roads has a fair bit of rock/detritus.

Tom...thanks for the shout out. I appreciate it.
We can make the stone guards to suit your taste. We can color match. Although it can be tricky with certain colors. White would not be too difficult.
We also make a Martini style that is not in our catalogue yet. See photo. Might be cool in the 918 Spyder monochromatic as well. We made these top stripes for a happy customer last week.

I have been meaning to post this for awhile also. I live in Cincinnati where Magnagrafik is located. I had Dan create a Martini hood stripe and bought the Stone Guards after removing the old clear ones first (they were starting to yellow). I really like the look on white.

Well, I decided to give these a try and I am very pleased. Seem to be good quality. I’m happy with this as it gives me peace of mind since I removed the factory stone guards when I had the car PPF’d. Plus it gives the car a new/different look.

I added the Porsche Logo matte finish model just because I was curious as to how it looks? The logo is a vinyl decal on the stone guard and it is darker than guards red and a little lighter than Carmine Red which I have. It matches pretty good if your 10 feet away but as you get closer you can see it’s a little lighter. I like it one day then the next it bugs me! I can carefully remove the logo if I get to the point I just can’t love it! Overall I really like the look and protection the stone guards provide! By the way I have full Expel plus the factory stone guard under this and it has been rock solid for speeds up to 90 mph on the highway!
