Default 991 Skidplate for Aerokit?

I have a 2013 991s with aerokit. Some driveways are a bit tough and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation about a skid plate or some other way to best protect the underside of the front spoiler.

Thank you

You can buy the front splitter part of the aerokit for a couple hundred bucks on suncoast. Best bet is to replace that when needed.

I agree. anything you add will only make it lower and scrape more. I had the aerokit on my 997.2 and skipped it on my 991 for that reason since my car is a daily driver. Plus, I think the unpainted replacement lip is black, so you wouldn't have the expense of painting when you replace periodically.

Is it a paint color that could pass as a urethane type splitter (similar to the SPASM lip? Would it look cheap if you have it on any colored car? I would imagine the color contrast could look even sportier.

The car is black so there isn't a big deal with paint color. Although I do like it painted. Thanks for all the advice guys. Much appreciated.

I've got a black 4S with the aerokit. I've found that with the shorter overhang of the 991, I am scraping far less than I did in my plain 997.2S.

With that said, when I've scraped, the white primer shows thorough very easily, and stands out against the black paint. Easy enough to cover up with touch up paint.

What I did was to stick some small hard plastic/teflon-like furniture glides or sliders on the underside of the lip. The center by the two small openings seems to be the area that scrapes the most. Stick them back a little from the front edge and they won't be visible. Basically mini skid plates.

You could buy some clear bra material from any installer and stick it on the bottom of the front lip. Thats what I did for my Speedart front lip on my last porsche lowered on coils. When it become too ripped up, just peel it off and stick on a new piece, while still keeping all the paint intact.

Most autoparts stores sell "bumper paint" that matches the unpainted SPASM lip fairly well.

I've used it on my previous Turbo to touch up a lip.

You could wrap the bottom side in black vinyl, even by yourself. It will get scraped but protect the OE paint. Or any type of clear bra-self install will have clear material you can use. Go for it, as I have yet to see a Porsche not scrape that thing miserably.
