I have had several 911s in the past and even a 968 about 20 years ago. I currently have a 360 which is for sale and thinking about ordering or buying a preowned 991s or 4s. Do I think I will regret it? The Porsche would be my DD vs having 2 cars now so I could actually be more fiscally responsible. Tried to post a pic of the 360 but for sme reason it won't work.
I did test drive a 991s today with about every option and I loved but it was much softer than the 360, no where near as raw. It did sound fantastic though with the SE.
If you look at the performance numbers, a Boxster S is fast enough to compete with a 360. Any 991 will be a huge step up, especially if you compare PDK with a 360-era F1 gearbox. We live in crazy times!
I still remember the cognitive dissonance that came with the realization that the Honda Accord was as powerful as my old 308...
Try a 991C2S with the Sport PASM suspension and sport chrono and sport exhaust. While it never gets to "raw" at the sporty end, or to 'limo" at the GT end, it has so wide a performance envelope that it does what you want and way more than you can imagine at the push of button.
That is exactly what I drove today and really enjoyed it. I didn't push too hard but I got the idea.
In regards to performance the 360 is definitely not the quickest but don't underestimate it as it does pretty well especially for a 10 year old car. 400Hp at ~3100lbs is a nice combo.
The 991s really has my interest though, I love the sound with the SE. If I can sell my 360 then I am in.
Off topic but how in the heck do you upload a pic from an iPad? I tried directly from the iPad as well as a lim from photobucket and I get invalid file format.

I have no idea of how to do that. But I can vouch for the 991 as a daily driver. I have put on more than 12 k in a year, and half of that on my "actual daily driver"!
It would not be fair to compare the 991 with the 360. A 997 would be more fair. Having driven all three for extended periods of time, the 997 PASM equipped would be superior to the 360, particularly with hard charging in the corners on a twisty road. The 991 is superior in performance to the 997. Too lazy to type more but I'm sure I pissed someone off somewhere with my personal, honest, and straightforward commentary.
Can't figure out why this is so difficult. I think I need to get away from the iPad.
It's neither you, nor the ipad. I've been a member here since 2007 and still get the "invalid file format" thing time and again no matter how, where and what I try to upload. Just last night I got it while trying to upload a picture I had no problems with less than a week ago.
