Would you mind building a 2026 car new if you knew that it would be a October/November delivery so you would only get 1-2 months with the car before it was considered a year old?
If your concern is with car's value in a few years, I think that with Porsches, the model year doesn't matter that much. What matters is the generation, the mileage and the remaining warranty, if any.
For example, if after a year, you were comparing values of a September '26 MY26 delivery and an October '26 MY27 delivery, both with the same mileage, I'm not sure that the MY27 would inherently be worth any more than the MY26. And if it is worth more, it's likely not more or much more, than the increased price you'll pay for the MY27. Things would be different if the model years crossed generations.
EDIT: I'll mention one other thing - the FOMO factor. Shortly after I secured an MY25 allocation, the MY26 model was introduced. MY26 included the Oak Green Metallic color, which I would have loved to have had. My dealer offered to move me to a future MY26 allocation, but I didn't want to wait or pay the additional cost, just for the latest color. And while I don't think that MY27 will offer anything substantially different than MY26, there's almost certain to be one of two minor changes that may be of interest to you.
That is a good point. Is that speculation or has there been something pointing in that direction?
It's a deduction from historical evidence. Porsche has raised the MSRP each and every model year even before the tariff increase. They have even raised prices mid-model year recently due to tariffs (US) and Porsche's own economic issues (globally).

Has your dealer stated that they will have Q3 MY26 allocations.... usually Q3 allocations are for the next model year (MY27) since those will start delivery by the end of Q4.
If you are just starting to plan your build, you may have a difficult time securing a MY26 allocation with an August freeze date (Sept. build/ October delivery).
My 23 992.1 GTS was finished in May and I did ED in October and then didn't get it until December in the US. So, no, I wouldn't care. Unless there is something you are looking for that they will let you option in the MY27 model (like Cognac buckets for the GT3).
I'm waiting to September to spec a MY2027 car for February build and delivery May/June next year.
So... A September/ October allocation will have a freeze date and build date way before your estimated build/ delivery times if shipping to the US.
Allocations freeze (V250) 2-6 weeks after being issued to the dealer. Production (V260) usually begins 3-6 weeks after an allocation freeze.
If that allocation order is frozen in Sept/ October., it stands a good chance of being completed by the end of Q4 and probably in the US by the end of Q1/27.
But option selection and availability will have a say in long or short production times.
Delivery times also depend on the destination country the car is being shipped to.
Have you talked to a dealer? In general things don’t work like that…
yeah I’m in NZ so maybe different dealer told me I could order MY27 later this year originally suggesting December for a Feb build slot but said I could even order earlier as in pay deposit down to secure the slot so I said OK could do tha in September and he said he will get in touch with me around July when the MY27 year is released
