Porsche is no better (and probably no worse) than BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc. especially if (as I understand it) there was no fault attributable to Porsche. They are not responsible - in any way - for their dealers.

I'm just happy that the OP is getting a resolution to this issue. Best of luck to you!
Some snips from PCNA's home page:

About Porsche Cars North America

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), based in Atlanta, Ga., is the exclusive importer of Porsche sports cars and sport utility vehicles for the United States.

Established in 1984, it is a wholly owned, indirect subsidiary of
Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. PCNA employs approximately 180 people who provide Porsche vehicles, parts, service, marketing and training for its 202 dealers. The dealers, in turn, provide Porsche owners with best-in-class service.

Throughout its 60-year history, Porsche has developed numerous technologies that have advanced vehicle performance, improved safety and spurred environmental innovations within the automotive industry. The company continues to celebrate its heritage by adding to its long list of motorsports victories dating back to its first 24 Hours of Le Mans class win in 1951. Today, with more than 28,000 victories, Porsche is recognized as the world's most successful brand in sports car racing.

PCNA, which imports the iconic 911 series, the Boxster and Cayman sports cars, Cayenne sport utility vehicles for the U.S. and highly acclaimed Panamera, strives to maintain a standard of excellence, commitment and distinction synonymous with its brand.

Porsche Motorsport North America provides racing assistance, parts and service from their home base in Southern California. Porsche Logistics Services, LLC provides parts distribution from Ontario, CA and Atlanta, GA.

In October 2009, PCNA also officially opened a new Northeast Regional Support Center that was awarded a prestigious LEED Gold Certificate for being built and operated with a level of environmental sensitivity. The 300,0000 sq. ft. building is the only one to receive this honor in the northeast area it is located (Easton, Pennsylvania).

The environmentally conscious initiatives in the U.S. also include other facilities. In 2009, Porsche's Logistic complex in Ontario, California began to employ solar power, saving 50,000 pounds of CO2 each year.

The most valuable capital this company has is its loyal customers with their sense of Porsche responsibility. The most valuable support for this company is its work force and its tradition of outstanding performance.

But they are - as you said - "not responsible - in any way - for their dealers". If you're right about that, then how can PCNA stand behind the commitments outlined above? How can they "strive to maintain a standard of excellence, commitment and distinction synonymous with its brand" and how can they say that "The most valuable capital this company has is its loyal customers with their sense of Porsche responsibility" if the dealerships they have selected to represent the brand should be allowed to conduct themselves as they see fit with no responsibility under any circumstance for PCNA to get involved? Can you explain?
