Older kids in the back of a 991
First post here. Hi everyone!
About to get a base 991, moving from a 987.2 Cayman S and more recently a 981 Boxster S. Never having had the luxury of rear "seats" prior to this, wanted to ask a question of parents here who drive with their kids in 991s.
I have two kids... a 5 year old and a 10. I know there are numerous options for the 5 yr old in terms of narrower child seats et al from the searches I've done. My question is really about the 10 year old. During a test drive, I could see that she was a little too tall for the rear tokens... not that she couldn't fit in them, but the back of the seat only comes up to her neck.
I've read that some parents here and in other forums are still happily ferrying their 12/13 year olds and I'm just wondering... are you driving them around with no form of head restraints whatsoever? Are are you using some sort of narrown and more importantly slim profile booster of sorts that doesn't add too much bulk to the forward distance of the sitting position? If so, what brand and model?
Thanks in advance for sharing!

That age, kids will be quite happy in the back (apart from not having opening windows).
I have regularly taken adults in the back of previous 997s and now my 991; although you wouldn't want to do many miles back there it's perfectly OK for short journeys.

I take my 9 and 7 year old frequently, just buckling them in. They both prefer the back seat, for some reason. In Texas kids below 8 are supposed to be in a booster. I would not hesitate at all to put a 10 year old in the front or back with seatbelt only.

I've had a 14 year old kid from my cycling team ride in the backseat of my 991 twice now. He's probably smallish for his age but not by much. He says it's okay back there and much more space than my TT-RS which also has a vestigial rear seat.

Much depends upon the size of the driver and front passenger. Rear seat behind driver has always been essentially useless for me. My son gave up on it by age 8. Now he's 14, 6 feet tall, and the rear seat behind him has been rendered useless too!

997 owner, but I put my 9 yr old in the front and 6 yr old in the back.
