In the Vette's favor, there's one thing I listen for in all of the YouTube reviews of all of the various sports cars on the market: the number and character of unscripted hoots and cackles emitted by the reviewer. Apart from specialty platforms like the Ariel Atom, the current Boxster/Cayman twins hold the record, I think, while the C7 is racking them up at a healthy pace as well. You don't hear these noises when somebody tests a Jaguar or a BMW.
It is clear that whatever can be said about the high-school level direction in the C7's styling department, the car is immensely fun to drive. Not bad news for anyone in the market, as it means more competition where it's truly needed.
But Christ, that thing escaped from the ugly factory at 200 MPH and hit every curb in the parking lot on the way out.

But as for the C7, I actually was impressed when he mentioned the seat cooling because that's something I'm now sold on, and while I'm not a fan of the digital dash, they apparently are using OLED screens so you get inky black on the parts that aren't lit at night.
Of course, I also noticed that they didn't implement the lock-out for 7th gear, so he was sweating doing 3-7 shifts by accident. That's definitely a nice thing on the 991, where you really can just treat it as a 6 speed unless you're cruising on the highway.

The Multifunction display in the 991 is the gage I look at and use the most. I can see why they went digital. There is more information to display and that is the best way to accomplish it.

The C7 could be an telling test case to support or refute the idea that today's buyers prefer to buy automatics.
I wonder what percentage of C7's will be ordered with an automatic?
Anyone here considering an automatic C7?

Considering the C7, but not automatic. Would be a shame to funnel that nice torque curve through an automatic.

No, because:
1. It's an automatic
2. It's a Corvette that looks like it ran out of the ugly factory...
(good one, bro!!)
3. I don't like cars where the front looks like an Opel Speedster and the back like a De Lorean from Back To The Future...
