Club Coupe, should have taken pictures
If I hadn't been so pissed off about bringing my 997 in for the same service issues a day after it had been "fixed", I would have taken a picture of a brand new 991 Club Coupe waiting for its lucky owner at Napleton in Westmont. It was black (not the green that I have read about) and the service guy didn't have many details about it, other than the fact that it listed at 187K. Anyone know any details? Is it a numbered special edition or simply someone's heavily optioned special order. The lettering on the side did say Club Coupe, but not sure of its significance. Supposedly, the new owner's name was etched into the dashboard by Porsche.

All these cars are Brewster Green, an extremely dark shade of green, so dark it looks black in about half the videos and photo's I've seen, so dark it makes the Espresso interior seem light by comparison. If you saw it in a service bay, or even in a showroom (which tend towards lots of light sources that altogether aren't very bright) then it probably did look black. These cars also have Sport Techno wheels painted the same color, and are heavily optioned inside, outside and performance wise. But they were not offered in North America.
The car you saw was probably either Brewster Green, or a black 991 optioned similar to the Club Sport.

I guess it could have been dark, dark green and I didn't see the interior. The wheels, which looked great by the way, were the same as on the link above. I read somewhere that only 13 were made. Can that be true? If they were not offered in North America, does that mean the owner just optioned it the same? Would Porsche agree to let the car have Club Sport nomenclature ?

Brewster Green is PTS available (see list in Custom Ordering thread) and all the other options are available so yes you could order them. Only things that would be really hard, probably not made available, would be the limited edition numbered and personalized "built for" on the dash trim. That style of wheel, Sport Techno, painted, is by far my favorite wheel. Couple guys have posted them painted, but so far none have had them painted matching body color with the spokes and rim left polished, as on the Club Coupe. Not sure how well it will work with other colors but it is fantastic on this car.

Was back at the dealership today and the Club Coupe was there, having been brought back for winter storage. I was told by the service manager that this car was, in fact, only one of 13 built. It is Brewster Green, but you can barely tell that it's green and not black in the lighting of the dealer bay vestibule. The poor quality iphone pics don't do it justice.

Interesting car. I guess the price is for the exclusivity more than the options.
