2014 Stingray

Far too busy, with too many design cues cribbed from other manufacturers (and Chevy's own past), inside and out.
The more I look at it, the more it gives me a headache. The front looks like it could almost work with some smoothing; if some of the lines on the side could be resolved it might work. But the back is a disaster.
Shame.

Is there a new batman movie and this is the new batmobile? The 911 has a classic, historic line, that will not ever be compromised! The lines of the new vette are just overdone and goofy.

Those who believe the Corvette and 911 are competitors have obviously never driven a 911. Not knocking the GM product; unbeatable bang for the buck, but I don't know anyone who ever had the buying process narrowed down to a choice between the two. The cars are from different planets.

Well the exterior/interior colors are nice. Sophisticated, even. Out of place on what is otherwise complete clown car. But hey, nice interior. Anyone else notice the extra left side handle for the passenger? Sweet!

I give Chevy credit, at a time when many companies are cutting costs to increase profits, at least they focused on improving the car. Most of us will never see the Vette as a direct competitor to a 911, but some people may. The fact that another company is trying to push the performance envelope, and will probably compete in racing, is a good thing, it will keep Porsche on it's toes. Porsche wil not want to lose to a Vette, the 911 will need to stay on the forefront of performance, and yes, even other things like interior design and technology.
I think competition is a good thing.

The front in nice. Rear is ugly and the interior is a vast improvement from the prior Gen's. That said, the interior still looks like a US made car. The back of the car is killing the looks. And no comparison to 911. Forget the HP argument. Put them on a track and say goodnight to the vette

Corvette is my third favorite car after Ferrari and Porsche. I've had plenty of all three. This is a giant step forward and yes, maybe not to everyone, but the 911 and Corvette are, and always have been, direct competitors. The general public thinks so and so does the automotive press. People that have chosen one or the other are the only ones that dismiss that rivalry.

I can already see Jeremy Clarkson knocking on the rear panel above the bumper for that cheap plastic feel...
6.2 L???!!! Come on! It's 2014!!! That era is gone! Did GM ever hear about efficiency?! Couldn't they have come up with like a 4.0L V8 Turbo or similar and get MORE for LESS?!
How are they going to compete with European cars when in Europe the trend is small cars, small engines and most of all DIESEL efficiency?! Even sports cars seem to be heading in the efficiency direction... That's what the guy is saying in the video : ' we need to be competitive in all markets ' How?!...I'm asking... How efficient can a 6.2L be...?!
Don't even want to start talking about looks and interior quality...
I see the same concept here...lots of HP and torque for not that much money...which works great for some...
I'd give them this : they are improving...slowly but surely!
