The details of a new purchase
I took delivery of a 2013 Black 991 Friday, December 28. I traded a perfect 18 year old silver 1995 993 that I had picked up at the factory. The reason for the new 991 vehicle was my many back surgeries that finally rendered me unable to drive a manual transmission. I have always owned nearly fundamental Porsches (look at my signature below). The only option on the 991 is PDK. When I took delivery of the 991, a salesperson bought my 993 from the dealership. The 993 came with many "extras".
On getting the 991 home, I became very intimidated. I read the owners' manuals which were voluminous and somewhat unintelligable. They did not help me with fundamentals in the car. The salesperson later helped me with some of my problems. I eventually called the salesperson to tell him I wanted my 993 back.
I am in the second week of ownership and recognize that I had relaxed with 1995 technology. I am still far from understanding 2013 991 technology but I am relaxing and gradually enjoying ownership.
BTW, I am a retired professor from a major university.

I could imagine returning a 993 for an earlier Carrera, or even an SC, but I could not imagine returning a 991 for.... anything. Congratulations and... pics?

I am curious, what specific items are you having problems with? Audio system? Nav? Bluetooth? I think the Nav is just ok (good by car standards but still crap compared to iPhone / google maps). Also, I find the Multifunction steering wheel helps alot for flipping through menus, answering the phone, etc - perhaps one can be retrofitted.
